Summer's over

Here in Hertfordshire the last day of summer has been one of heavy rain - torrential, pouring, heavy rain. Did we actually have a summer? Sadly, the last day of the month was also pretty gloomy for members of my service. I gave out three win bets this morning, and I saw no winners. But at least we were only giving back a little of the profits amassed during the course of the past thirty one days. Both the Back To Win and the Lay To Lose accounts still showed an overall profit for the month. Not huge profits, but profits all the same, and further details in the next Newsletter to go online soon.

He's The Gaffer shows who's boss

The account took a knock this afternoon, with a return from just one bet. He's The Gaffer won at Newton Abbott in a class 4 handicap hurdle. Having been placed in his last five races, in a grade above today's race, and at 31lbs well-in compared to his chase mark this afternoon, he was the obvious choice. But at the 2/1 available this morning I felt there was still value in the price.

This was my only success today, however, compounded by my sole lay bet, which won. But tomorrow will have to be a very poor day indeed, if I do not post another winning month overall.

Grab TTS for just £1... plus Special Bonuses

The countdown clock has reached zero.... It's past Friday midday.... and the doors have flung open on the £1 madness...

That's right, TrainerTrackStats is officially released and, for a limited time, you can grab your copy for one pound.

Click here to get straight to it:

http://www.trainer-track-stats.com

If you've missed the action this week (where have you been?!), Matt Bisogno and Gavin Priestley, co-authors of TTS, are conducting a little 'mad scientist' experiment... The reason they are virtually giving TTS away is because they want you to see the golden nuggets it contains.

So here's the deal: 77 pages of pure unadulterated profit (ok, 74 after you take out the title and contents pages), consisting of 145 trainers in the main manual, plus a whopping 288 in the Director's Cut (an appendix at the back of the book) for a quid.

Now here's the kicker - when you sign up for TTS for £1, you will also be enrolled onto a special Members' site, from where you can get the day's qualifiers (if you're too busy / lazy / confused to work them out for yourself). The following day's qualifiers will also appear here for those who have to work (i.e. almost everybody!)

http://www.trainer-track-stats.com

You will get free access to this site for 30 days. At the end of that period, if you wish to continue, you need do nothing, and you will automatically retain your membership at a cost of £37. This will continue for each month you remain a member.

Now, of course, if you just want to buy the guide for a pound, then fair enough: sign up, download, unsubscribe. Simple as that. No problem.

But experience tells Matt and Gavin that many people have problems finding the time or inclination to pick the selections out themselves and are grateful of the service the member site provides. If that's you, then take advantage of the introductory offer and decide if you want to continue when it ends.

Moreover, if you know you want to stay a member, there are two heavily discounted offers for half season (up to Christmas) and full season (to end April 2009) tickets to the membership area.

And, as if TTS for a quid wasn't enough, for this weekend only, you can also download TrainerFlatStats, TTS' sister manual, which is valid until the end of the flat turf season in early November.

That's a whole lot of action for 100 new pence, so take advantage of Matt and decide whether you think he's stupid, generous, smart, or downright mad making this offer!

Bisogno...TrainerTrackStats....What the?

Damn that Matt Bisogno! I can't believe he did this...

He's only gone and decided to virtually give away the full Trainer Track Stats 2008/9.

Here's the deal:

As part of a "one week only" special, Bisogno's giving away the full TTS manual (all 77 profit-soaked pages of it) for a measly one pound. A rotten stinking quid!

He's not only got the 145 trainers to follow around the country in there, but there's also a 'Director's Cut'. And yes, it is w-a-a-a-y better than his acting debut (see the link to TrainerTrackStats.com for that particular event).

In fact, this section alone should retail for at least £97. I've certainly seen a lot less for sale for a lot more than that.

So you're probably thinking, 'OK, What's the catch?'. At least that's what you should be thinking, because no way should this guy be giving away the golden nuggets in here for a song.

Well, here's the rub...

Matt's just about giving TTS away, because he wants to showcase to as many people as possible the amazing winner-finding potential of his research.

He's doing that by providing a month's free trial to a special password protected member page, where the horses to back will be listed. The page will be updated daily for the next day's racing, and all you have to do is login and grab the selections.

Of course, you are perfectly at liberty to use the manual yourself and find the qualifiers for yourself. There are full instructions in the manual.

If you want to do that, you just unsubscribe at any time during your 30 day trial, and you'll never be billed a penny more than your initial pound coin.

My advice though is to stay subscribed at least for a couple of weeks to be sure you're picking out the right horses.

But if you don't have time to pick out the horses each day or let's face it, if you just would rather someone else did the legwork for you, then the subscription option might well be for you. There's fat discounts offered if you choose to subscribe for the full season, or for half a season (i.e. up to Christmas).

Either way, you can't argue with a top quality proven racing system for just £1.

So, set the alarm for midday tomorrow, and get over to TrainerTrackStats.com to be sure of getting your copy.

Maximum Impact

It doesn't get any better than scoring a clean sweep, and today we nailed three from three. The day started with Action Impact running at Lingfield. This gelding has shown good improvement, and consistent form, since arriving at Gary Moore's stable. I felt he had an equal chance of taking the race today as the eventual runner up, and should have been priced around 2/1 against Gracechurch and the rest of the field. Anything above 5/2 and it was a value bet. As it happened you could get 7/2 about him, and he came home in front. My other two selections also came in at 5/2 and 4/1

There were no Lay bets to report on, and so a very useful 10 points profit to stash away come the end of the afternoon.

Mad scientist 'splits atom'... well, sort of...

I'm not sure if you got a chance to take a look at Matt Bisogno lifting the lid on *The Making of Trainer Track Stats* the other day?

If you did, you'll already have an idea of the hard core analysis that he and his co-researcher, Gavin Priestley, have put into it.

If you didn't, or even if you did, Matt's put together another video which is actually the second and final behind the scenes look at TTS.

I have to say that, now I've seen what goes into this product, I'm pretty gobsmacked! I mean, I knew it was good because it's worked for me the last two seasons.

But I had no idea that they went to such 'atom-splitting' levels to unearth the kind of info that's just not available anywhere else.

You can watch Matt put Philip Hobbs under the microscope and literally dissect his track record at Exeter.

Oh, and the result that he uncovers is definitely something you should keep a note of!

Check out the video HERE

PS. I'm quite serious when I say I don't know of another racing systems developer who refines the data as much as this.

The Magic Of Rio

I couldn't see the point of thinking up a pun for today's post title, because my winning horse's name is as good as anything I could dream up. A fine day at the office today, with a cash-injection of some 19 points to add to the account.

I proposed three win bets this morning, and the first of those Magic Of Rio won at Great Leighs. Returned at 7/1 there was plenty of 9/1 available on the exchanges throughout the day. The remaining two selections finished unplaced, but a welcome positive outcome overall, and much welcome.

Both my lay bets lost, including the red hot favourite Masaalek, also running this afternoon at Great Leighs. For sure, this colt had finished close up in a class 2 valuable handicap recently. But his only win to date has been his maiden, so remember that's a victory over horses who have yet to win themselves. And that was at class 5 level. So why he should be the odds on favourite in a conditions stakes was completely beyond me, and a no-brainer lay bet this morning. In fact, I was happy to lay 8 points against him if his price was 11/8 or below. Anything shorter than that, and the value was definitely in the lay bet. I was rubbing my hands when the price went below evens, and I layed him at 4/5 He was sent off at a miserly 4/6F by the bookmakers and finished third to give me 10 points profit in one race. My other lay bet was for a further 2 points against First Avenue at Chester.

Wednesday horse racing summary and weekly results

With the second day at York abandoned because the course is underwater (yes, underwater!) it was a quiet day again. I had one win bet Divine Power which came unstuck at Folkestone this evening.

My only proposed lay bet was running in the same race at Folkestone. Her only win aside, every other race she has contested this year she has been some distance off the winner. So I was not convinced she deserved to be the favourite for today's race, and if she dipped below 2/1 I felt the value bet was to oppose her. In the end she did justify favouritism, but I was right to insist on a maximum price as it meant we avoided taking a losing bet.

Results from the last 7 days

The strike rate from my Win Bets this past week has been pathetic, with only three winners from twenty bets. Those three winning bets however, returned enough to cover the losses and so no harm done to the account. But I would still seek to improve on the current hit rate to move the account forward.

No positive story with my Lay Bets either. I have had just the three lay bets this week, and two of these won their race, and so I ended up losing nearly 3 pts.

But I remain ahead overall for the month, with more than 6 points in the Bank.

Weekly profit results: Win Bets 1pt, Lay Bets 3pts loss

Total profit so far this month: 6.5 pts

Gordon Ramsay will be turning in his gravy

Sorry I couldn't resist the pun in the headline!
You see, I've just had a look at a very interesting video by a guy called Matt Bisogno, author of TrainerTrackStats.

TrainerTrackStats is one of the best selling - and most consistently profitable - racing systems around, and Matt's just posted a video showing what's involved in pulling the manual together.

CLICK HERE to watch the video

If you've ever wondered how racing systems are created, then this is your chance to find out. As far as I know, nobody has ever lifted the lid on their methods previously.

And I reckon Matt is taking a bit of a chance by doing this!

Anyway, check out the video for yourself and see what you think. There will be a number of different videos online over the next few days, so get over to the site quickly to avoid missing anything.

CLICK HERE to watch the video

PS To make the video bigger, click the little icon that looks like an 'x' next to the 'i' in the bottom right of the video window...

PPS The reason for the Gordon Ramsay reference is because Matt has done the video in a kind of recipe format, showing the ingredients and then a bit about the method.

I can't really explain it, it's best you see for yourself to see how much time and effort has gone into what he's done.

Tuesday horse racing summary

Slim pickings today as my focus was on the first day of the Ebor meeting at York which was rained off. York has also been washed out tomorrow as well. Two proposed bets remained, and the second of these did not reach my advised price. Which left Night Lily running at Brighton in a maiden. She showed improvement in her second race last time out, and a drop in class would seem to be the perfect opportunity for her to lose her maiden tag. The market agreed she had a favourite's chance, backing her in from 7/4 to 11/8 but it's a pity no-one told the filly she was going to win. She had a nightmare race, got bumped around and squeezed out mid-race, and finished last.

No lay bets to report either, so a loss of a point to the account.

Lady Deauville produces pretty profits

This week end proved to be a game of two halves. Yesterday all five of my selections came a cropper, whilst today my only win bet scored nicely, and my sole lay selection duly lost. And so by this evening I had recouped almost all of yesterdays losses.

Lady Deauville was appearing in the Listed fillies stakes at Bath this afternoon. She was a winner as a 2 year old at this level last year, and was coming off the back of a recent win in Listed company at Salisbury four days ago. The filly is clearly firing on all cylinders and I thought 3/1 about her represented a very good value bet. She won by a clear 2 lengths.

I was brave enough to oppose an AP McCoy horse as well today, and Gun Smith failed to fire at Southwell.

Earlsmedic just what the doctor ordered

I am still struggling to find my form and strike rate, with only the one winner from four bets today. Thankfully that winner was generally available at around 7/1 so we still finished the day nicely in front. But I am looking to get back to my typical hit rate of 30-35%

Earlsmedic was competing in a class 4 handicap sprint this evening at Newmarket. He was dropped in distance to 6f last time out, which proved fruitful with a win by a massive six lengths. I felt that form put him at the head of this field, and a price of at least 5/1 looked very good value indeed. I was duly rewarded with a win at a decent price.

Four rules for successful betting

I'm currently in the doldrums when it comes to making profits from betting. Having barely broken even so far this month, it would be very easy to start "searching" for bets to try and make some quick profit and get back on track. But this ill-discipline is where many punters go wrong. If you have a strategy that has proven profitable over time, then you must have confidence in yourself that your methods work.

Every punter will experience periods where no bets ever seem to go in, and profits seem to ebb away after all your hard work to build them up.

It's in these times of low confidence you need to maintain the attitutude of a professional. It will only be a matter of time before results start to happen again for you, and your profit curve takes an upward turn once again.

I've just read a very sensible article by Flo Jordan posted at HorseRacingArticles.co.uk. He talks about four very basic, but oh-so-critical rules he lives by to maintain success from betting. I recommend you read the article in full, and just follow the link below. A lot of it is "Successful Betting 101" stuff, but we all need a refresher sometimes.

Thursday horse racing summary

All my bets went against me today, putting a dent in profits this month, and leaving me a little glum this evening. I had four win bets all fail to win, and although two of these came in second, sadly we don't get paid on runners-up out of sympathy by the bookmakers. :-(

I was also opposing Night Rocket at Salisbury this afternoon. Her only win to date had been her maiden, at a class below today's race. So in handicap company, and stepping up in class, she would need to produce at the top of her form. I was counting she would have an off day, and actually I was attracted to the second favourite. I was happy to lay bets against her at 9/4 and she opened on course at 2/1 and even touched 15/8 before drifting a little to 5/2 at the off. But my bet was taken at 9/4 and so 2 and one-quarter points lost to the account.

Normal service resumed

Some of the pages on the ReddRacing.co.uk site were offline yesterday, which meant many of you will have been unable to access yesterday's selections. I understand email to my address was affected also. I am told the gremlins were eventually found, rounded up, and blasted with a virtual shot-gun in the early hours of this morning!

Apologies for any inconvenience caused, but all appears to be back to normal this morning, and I have checked to see today's selections can be seen online - all OK...

I shall be spending some time this afternoon catching up with any outstanding emails, so please be patient and I will respond to all queries in turn.

Technical problems - please read

I am advised the ReddRacing.co.uk web site is experiencing technical problems this morning. If you have been unable to access today's information (and you have thought to look here for answers) then here is today's advice:

Lingfield 3:00 Fault at 7/2 minimum price
Lingfield 4:30 Bavarica at 7/1 minimum price

I have one lay bet,

Musselburgh 7:10 Mystical Ayr at 5/2 maximum price

Good luck if playing today.

What a proper Compton Charlie

Only a successful lay bet this evening stopped today being one of total embarrassment. All five of my win bets went down, none of them even placing. I have suffered white-washes before and I will see them again without a doubt, but it doesn't stop it hurting all the same. It's your pride more than anything that takes a denting - after all, I am supposed to be good at finding winners. As expected, on days like today I get the same old emails from a few, shall we say "disappointed" people, taking a trial week. If these emails didn't prick my sensitivity even just a little, then I wouldn't be human.

However, I know, as indeed THEY know, they have also had days when all their bets lose. In that respect, I am no different - but the one key difference being that I am prepared to put my opinion and credibility on the line pretty much each and every day of the year. But I am happy for those who feel they need to mock, if it somehow boosts their own withering self-esteem and makes them feel better about themselves.

Importantly, I can still post a running profit for the month so far, and today was simply a question of seeing some profit slip away.

Compton Charlie was running in a class 5 handicap at Windsor this evening. He has been banging on the door of a second win since his only victory back in the Spring. However, a succession of near misses has seen his mark move up by 6lbs, and I don't think he will win again until the handicapper lets loose his grip a little. He was sent off the 11/4F and I was happy to lay him to lose at that price. After an effort 2f out he was soon beaten.

Thursday horse racing summary

Almost a perfect day, with three bets, a runner-up and two winners. The prices were nothing much to write home about, but still two-out-of-three ain't bad. First Hajoun was runner-up at Yarmouth, then Caranbola won at Haydock. Cavendish Road was my third bet, running at Brighton. This was a weak maiden contest, and Cavendish Road would be priced too high in my opinion if offered at better than 2/1 This price and better was freely available so he was the best value in the race, as well as the best horse. His winning margin of half a length hides his command of the race, and he won a shade cosily under Richard Hughes.

I also proposed two lay bets this morning. One was withdrawn at the start before coming under orders, and the other, which lost, was not available at a low enough price to risk the lay bet, and goes down as a 'no bet'.

More than 4 points profit to show at the end of the afternoon.

Qrackers takes the biscuit

A small loss of less than a point all told by the end of play today. A disappointing return from five win bets, as only one horse came home first, and at relatively short odds. Qrackers was racing over fences for only the second time. However, he had won his chasing debut, albeit at a class below today's race. Futhermore, he had won several races over hurdles at today's level of competition. So I felt he was the horse to back, provided we could get a minimum 11/8 This price was available on the exchanges earlier today, and our horse carried our money to victory.

I managed to get back most of the other losses today by successfully overturning two race favourites - Great Charm at Ripon, and Equuleus Pictor this evening at Windsor. A third was also soundly beaten, but as the horse was not matched at my suggested low price, it has to go down as a 'no bet'.
