Wednesday update

I put forward two selections to win this afternoon. Dr Fremantle won very easily, but was never available at the price of 11/8 I was looking for. In the end he was returned a very short 8/13 and will go down as a 'no bet' along with Incomparable.

I finished the month in profit, but only just, and it has not been a month to write home about. My newsletter will be out soon to give detailed analysis for October. Watch this space.

Making a profit from Expensive Art

A fine haul this afternoon, and nearly a clean sweep to boot. Muktasb found a 66/1 chance finish ahead of him, and but for this surprise I would have scored five out of five bets today. My other two back-to-win bets both won their respective races, including Expensive Art at Catterick. Trainer N A Callaghan was taking only one horse all the way up the A1 to the Yorkshire track this afternoon, which spoke volumes about the confidence of connections. This confidence was reflected in the shortening of the price from 7/1 this morning into 9/2 at the start.

Both my lay bet selections were successfully overturned, and by the end of the afternoon I had made 15 points profit.

Do not buy CashMaster until you have read this....

I don’t know what you think about betting systems – some people swear by them, and yet some people swear AT them! Personally, I find a good system can be an excellent foundation to a betting strategy, if used as an initial filter to arrive at a number of potential selections.

But I can count the number of systems I would use as a stand-alone method on the fingers of one hand.

If you are in a hurry you can go straight to this web page to check out a remarkable software program www.reddracing.co.uk/cashmaster

So it is not all that often you will ever hear me getting excited about horse racing software systems. The reason is this – because 99% of the time they simply will not make you any money!

That said, there is one software program that I am actually really glad to have discovered – and that is Cash-Master. Many of you will have heard of Cash-Master as it is one of the best-selling programs available. Quite possibly you already own a copy. But if you haven’t, I promise you this unique software program is unlike anything you have seen or tried before. Just like the testimonials I was reading on their website, I too found myself making good profits within a few short days.

Before you read the rest of this article, pay a visit to the website to see exactly what I am talking about:

Visit the Cash Master website.

Almost every software program I have ever tried simply organises form data to produce a rating for each horse in a race. Different programs use different data, from different sources, and they use the data in different ways to produce different sets of rankings. You are then left to place your money on the horse with the highest rating.

Employ any one of these systems over a period of time, and chances are you will slowly but steadily lose money. If you are really lucky you will break even.

The reason for this is that 99% of systems ignore the crucial factor for making a profit – achieving a value price. If you fail to bet horses at prices too big compared to their actual chance of winning, then over time you will lose money. Period.

So you can appreciate that when I was asked to review Cash-Master on a trial I was just as sceptical as usual. As it turns out, for once I was wrong! When you see Cash-Master in action for yourself, you will immediately see how it is so much more than a just selection system. I call it my ‘profits-booster’.

With the Cash Master System you get the powerful software program, a comprehensive operating manual, their proprietary Mega Buster selection system, many other free bonuses, and a 100% Money Back guarantee if you are not happy – a ‘No Lose’ situation.

So how exactly does it all work?

All you will be required to do is visit specific free internet sites for information and then enter those details into the program. Cash-Master will then tell you exactly what to do. The software runs in any Microsoft Windows operating system. There is NOT a lot of tedious data entry involved. Everything is clearly explained in the step-by-step instruction manual.

I should stress at this point that it is critical you pay close attention to the author's instructions. There are many products on the market similar to Cash-Master, but in my experience Graham Laurie is the only person who carefully explains how best to use this type of software. He takes great pains to explain sensible risk-management strategies, and you would do well to take his advice to heart. Greed has been the downfall of many punters, and Graham offers brilliant advice on how to keep greed in check.

Suffice to say that I am more than happy to recommend Cash-Master. When used in conjunction with a solid selection system, this software will prove an invaluable tool to ensure you maximise your profits.

Make sure you get straight over to the Cash-Master website, order yourself a copy (there is a no-quibble money-back guarantee), and begin ‘paper trading’ with this software today.

Visit the Cash Master website.

Top Ten Reasons To Open A Betting Exchange Account

When I am visiting a race course I am still bewildered by the number of people I meet who still neither bet online, or use the betting exchanges such as Betfair. I would not be surprised if it is still the vast majority of punters who prefer to do business in their local high street bookmakers shop.

I have penned an article with ten compelling reasons to use the betting exchanges. Just follow this link to read the article....

Friday horse racing summary

A busy day on the Back-to-Win account this afternoon, with seven bets in all. I would have been better off leaving my money in my pocket though, as only two winners with not a lot of meat in the price, still left me almost a point short of my losses.

As yesterday, there were no Lay bet selections to report on.

Thursday, October 18, 2007

Thursday horse racing summary

Just the one bet this afternoon, and Esclarmonde managed to place 3rd at 10/1 Unfortunately placing 3rd does not pay the bills for me as a back-to-win player. And so a single point lost from the account today.

Wednesday, October 17, 2007

Wednesday horse racing summary

A loss of just over 2 points on the Back-To-Win account today, with only one horse returned the winner from five selections. The Sliotar was a well-fancied winning favourite at Uttoxeter, backed in from 15/8 on the exchanges to a starting price of 5/4

The Lay account took a blow as well this afternoon, as For Life came home in front. He was sent off at 100/30 but you should have been able to lay him at 5/2 earlier in the day. Just goes to show that drifting favourites can still win, but it took nearly eight points out of the account, as i went against him for three points.

Monday horse racing summary

A profit of 8 points was thankfully pocketed this afternoon. I've still made a small loss over the past week, but at least the overall figure for the month is nicely back in the black again. Angle Of Attack was our winner for value today. His best form this summer has been as runner-up in a class 4 event. Dropped in class this afternoon, he was also likely to benefit from a drop back in trip to 5f All-in-all the early price of 11/2 on the exchanges was much too high compared to his chances of taking a race like this, and he proved to be a very good punt.

I had mixed success with my two lay bets, with one winning and the other losing. But the big bet of 6 points against Zero Cool at Windsor ensured I still managed a good profit.

Sunday horse racing summary and weekly results

I scored a couple of Lay bets this afternoon, but 2 points profit only made a slight dent in the overall losses for this past week. I shall not be happy until I see a return to form in finding winning horses at good prices.

Pearl Dealer was having only his second outing after winning a class 5 maiden. Today he was in handicap company, and taking a step up in class. There was also the question of whether he would handle soft going. The morning favourite, his price drifted, but you could have bet against him at 7/2 in the morning. The question about whether he would like soft going was answered when he came in last.

This week the Win Bets lost the best part of 7 points in total, with a paltry 2 winners from 14 bets. I would be stretching the truth to say the Lay Bets did anything better than break even, with 5 successful bets from 8 selections.

Profit for the week: Win Bets 7pts loss, Lay Bets 0pts

Captain Gerrard scores

I cannot buy a winner in my current form it would seem, unless of course I am betting against the horse! Exactly what happened today. My three Win Bets all lost.

Then I was opposing Captain Gerrard in the Cornwallis Stakes at Ascot. I didn't think he would be able to reverse the form against Spirit Of Sharjah from a previous clash at Doncaster, and 5/2 was short enough in my book to risk backing the field against him. He proved me wrong, and the horse goes from strength to strength.

Grand Show fails to perform

Another day's betting with nothing to show but a small loss. My only qualifying win bet was Pauls Plain who ran a disappointing race to finish 3rd at a short price of 5/4

I had two lay bets, and the first was another Godolphin debutant Calming Influence. I find when a horse from a big training operation such as Godolphin is well-touted they are very often over-bet, and therefore good value for us to bet against. However, aided by Frankie Dettori, they are having a run of success with their novices and I am paying for it. I went against Grand Show at Lingfield and managed to scrape a point back when this one failed to win, but it is turning out to be a difficult week overall.

Consider the Going and make better profits

Just how important is the Going when considering a bet? Weighing up the chances of a horse winning a particular race is a bit like completing a jigsaw. And I'm not talking about the jigsaw you bought for your 2 year-old last Christmas. I'm talking about one of those 2,000 piece monsters you never seem to be able to finish.

I discuss the subject of the Going in my latest article at www.horseracingarticles.co.uk

Thursday horse racing summary

It's turning into a long, bleak week with another four bets going down this afternoon. It's funny how easy it is to write about your betting triumphs, but so much harder when it comes to describing a poor set of results. But that is what this Blog is all about. I want people to understand that I have bad periods just like everyone else. When faced with a losing run you just have to be confident that your approach is a solid one, and keep on doing what you know has returned profits in the past. But it is still a long wait sometimes, when you are looking for that light coming around the corner (especially when you have a 20/1 shot come in second like we did today!)

Eds Betting Tips

If you like betting on European football then you may like to pay a visit to this great Blog I came across recently:

Eds Betting Tips

Although it's not a sport I often get that excited about, Ed also makes picks for Tennis. However, tennis is a great sport for betting as although odds are often short, the form is very consistent. If you prefer gradual but consistent profits from your betting then tennis is a sport I recommend you read up upon. Better still, follow someone like Ed.

I didn't Envisage this winning

By the end of the afternoon I was 1 point better off than this morning. We had two non-runners, but the remaining two bets produced a winner in Telegonus, who cruised to victory beating the 6/5F The weight of money for the favourite pushed the price of my selection out, so we got excellent value about the winner.

I took on the favourite Envisage for the maiden at Nottingham. It was the horse's debut, and the first time he would have set foot on a public race-course. The fact that it was a Godolphin horse partnered by Frankie Dettori helped keep the price down to our advantage, but at the end of the day no-body knows for sure how a horse will react and perform first time out. 6/4 was short enough and I layed bets against him. I was wrong to do so on this occassion, but at such a low price the wrong decision was an inexpensive one.

Nothing to report

None of my selections reached my value prices this afternoon, so they all go down as 'no bets'. A little disappointing as we missed two winners. But the discipline of only betting when 'value' is available returns profits in the long run. Although today it may seem I threw away the chance to cash-in on two winners, other days we avoid short-priced losers. Over any extended period of time you will make more money backing horses at value prices.

The meeting at Folkestone was abandoned before my lay selection ran.

Betting Against Horses For Profit

Let me explain to you why a book I have read recently will help you take advantage of the betting exchanges.

www.Laying-Horses-For-Profit.com

Sporting Exchange Ltd was formed in 1999 to commercialise the betting technology developed by Andrew Black and Edward Wray.

They created a web site where punters could be 'matched' with other punters who had opposing opinions, effectively betting against each other, and Betfair was born. It also heralded the opportunity for the average punter in the street to bet on horses to lose their race.

I remember thinking this was an unbelievable chance to make some serious money. Pick a horse to lose a race and you win your bet. "These guys must be crazy" I thought. "Anyone can pick a loser, its going to be easy to make money! Surely this site will go bust within weeks?"

At first, I started out by going through the Racing Post and selecting a horse that by the form-book had "absolutely no chance" of winning, and laying it to lose on Betfair. This 'system' worked fine for a while, until BANG!! a 25/1 chance popped up and won. Trouble was, the 25/1 horse was something like 40/1 on Betfair and I lost all my profit, plus more, all in one go.

I guess it proved the old saying that "horses can't read form books".

Betfair had arrived, and it was a betting revolution that was here to stay.

I'm sure many of you will have had this experience yourselves. Turning a profit by laying horses to lose is not as easy as it first sounds. But, like all areas of betting the secret to success comes in getting some 'value' into your bet -- and the value in laying comes far more often than not, when you oppose the favourite.

I picked up a copy of Betting Against Horses For Profit by Henry McAnenly when it was voted the best betting guide in my last Readers' Poll. As the title suggests, it focuses on laying horses to lose. Henry is a renowned professional gambler, and an expert author of several best-selling books on betting and horse racing. Since his latest offering was voted #1 Book I decided I should get myself a copy.

I have read his book, and it details a very sound system for identifying weak and vulnerable race favourites -- often referred to as 'false' favourites. Horses at short-prices that are not as sure to win as their price might suggest. Remember what I am always saying about making your betting pay by betting for value? Consistently lay horses at prices too short compared to their actual chance of winning, and you will make a profit just like the bookmakers have been doing for generations. Well having read Henry’s book, that is exactly what you will learn.

If you are interested in laying horses to lose as a betting strategy then find out more by visiting Henry's web site:

Wobbly form shown by City Stable

We made an acceptable respectable profit today, but thanks largely to the success of two lay bets. I had four win bets, but had to wait until my last selection before finding a winner. Gordonsville came home in front at Wolverhampton. He was returned the 6/4F but you could have got matched at a fraction under 7/4 on the exchanges.

I proposed two morning race favourites to oppose, in Mushtaaq and City Stable. The latter was running in a class 4 maiden over a mile at Windsor. It was his second outing after finishing 4 lengths behind the winner of a similar event on his debut. I didn't think his debut performance merited such a short price as evens favourite, and I layed bets to lose 2 points. Again he finished second.

By the end of the afternoon my account showed a profit of just over 2.5 points.

Sunday, October 07, 2007

Sunday horse racing summary and weekly results

A single point lost to the account, on what transpired to be a very quiet day. Just the one back-to-win bet, which failed to finish in the frame.

This week I managed to turn only a small profit of 3 points on the Back-to-Win account, from 23 bets in all, after finding 5 winners. Much better returns from the Lay Bets account, with more than 6 points from 8 bets.

Profit for the week: Win Bets 3pts, Lay Bets 6.5pts

Saturday horse racing summary

A small profit today, but a profit all the same. I had two back-to-win selections and Hadaf was returned a winner at 4/1

My only lay bet was Malt Or Mash running in a class 3 handicap at Newmarket. His best performance to date had been a win in a class 4 handicap off an Official Rating of 84 He has been tried in class 2 company with little impact. Although dropping down in class today, he was up in trip compared to his winning run, and also racing off a 7lb higher mark. I felt he would be worth taking on at 7/2 or below, and I was able to lay bets at 5/2 He justified favouritism by winning, but I would still lay him again at that price. If that race was run 100 times I am positive Malt Or Mash would not win 28% of the time - which is what the price of 5/2 implies.

Friday horse racing summary

We would all like consistent profits, day-in, and day-out. Unfortunately that is rare in racing, and anyone looking to be ahead from one day to the next is going to be largely disappointed betting on horses. All the same, I get a little depressed when we have two losing days back-to-back. All three Win Bets failed this afternoon, and my only Lay Bet went and won it's race. By the end of the day I had lost 4 points.

Thursday, October 04, 2007

Thursday horse racing summary

Back down to earth after yesterday's success, and the best part of 5 points lost overall. Just one short-priced winner from five selections meant a loss of more than 2 points.

Lion Sands won at Newmarket, and but for successfully laying Plucky later in the afternoon, today would have been a wipe-out. As it happens I re-couped a couple of points, but still showed more than 2 points deficit on the lay account.

Wednesday, October 03, 2007

Just what the Doctor ordered

A small profit from my back-to-win selections today, with one winner in Kiwi Bay at a value price of 7/4 on the betting exchanges.

A stonking day from my lay-to-lose selections, with 13 points profit returned from just two bets. I had a big bet against Doctor Fremantle in the maiden at Salisbury. How anyone would want to accept odds as short as 1/3 about a horse having only its second run, having already failed to win a similar event on its debut, I will never know! I would lay these kind of crazy bets all day, every day. Getting matched at 2/5 I was able to increase my stake to 10 points, and still only risk the 4 points I advised, should the horse win. He finished in runner-up spot and just like all the bookmakers on course at Salisbury I was wringing my hands with glee. I also successfully layed another race favourite Make Haste for 3 points.

Thanks largely to landing these two lay bets, I was nearly 14 points better off come the end of the afternoon.

September Newsletter

I've decided to move my monthly newsletter from the ReddRacing.co.uk web site, here to my Blog. It makes archiving a lot easier, and I can instantly point new members here when they want to see past results presented in a little more detail, before making a decision to join.

The main purpose of the monthly Newsletter is to summarize the results of the previous month, and I will try to publish within a few days of the month just ended. Bellissimo Genepi

Two winners from seven back-to-win bets this afternoon left me nearly eight points profit in front, thanks largely to Another Genepi who landed a betting coup at Wolverhampton this afternoon. Returning to the track where he came a close second at the beginning of the summer, and off a similar mark, he was far too big a price at 11/1 on the exchanges this morning and had to be backed at that value. The price tumbled throughout the day, and he was eventually sent off at 5/1

My only lay bet was against Fabuleux Cherie earlier at the same track. She yet again failed to live up to expectations, and came second to land us another 2 points profit.

So just shy of 10 points profit to tuck away in the satchel this evening.

The Racing Investors Club

When it comes to making our betting pay, we all need a little help from time-to-time. I have learnt to study the form book over the years, but to obtain that vital 'edge' over the market, I still rely on additional information from a network of contacts. Being part of a 'club' pays dividends. Which is why I want to introduce you to a hugely successful one - The Racing Investors Club.

Click here to find the The Racing Investors Club

The Racing Investors Club brings together a small team of racing experts, systems analysts and professional punters. It is their aim to collaborate with members to create an investment approach to our betting so that we can all benefit from consistent profits.

One of the main features of the Club is the monthly report posted to all members featuring racing methods and ideas that have been tried and tested over lengthy periods. Advice on system operation, staking plans and other betting strategies will be discussed in detail and all members are encouraged to participate with their own ideas and contributions via the Members Forum. I strongly feel this is one of the best racing forums available – why not try it?

Every month you will also receive a collection of great systems that you can use to create a steady income stream from small stakes betting. Many systems will include full results for up to 3 years and you will be told exactly how to operate them.

So every month that’s:

A 60+ page (A4) report detailing the best systems tested.

Access via cheap rate lines to at least four of Sportsworlds current tipping lines.

30% discount off any Sportsworld Product

Opportunity to win £1,000 (Tipster Competition) and to listen each day to the competition entrants’ bets. These tipsters have been known to outperform the “experts”.

Full telephone and e-mail support from the Club Secretary on any queries.

Internet Forum - There is an established forum for all members to exchange ideas, discuss problems and generally benefit from shared knowledge and experience. I can tell you this is one of the best forums of its kind on the net. Many members feel that this alone is worth the subscription price

Members have access to a very knowledgeable group of contributors, which is getting stronger all the time. At present, these include, among others:

Bernard Hibbert
Andrew Mount
Malcolm Heyhoe
Peter Stavers
Ricky Taylor
Mervyn Coulson
Andrew Hadley
Darren Power
The Highlander
and David Peat

Monday horse racing summary

Disappointing results to kick off the new month of October. I had three win bets this afternoon, and all three failed to win. Cassiara had shown some improvement in her recent outings, and come close to winning, and I would not have been surprised to see her take the class 5 maiden she was contesting at Windsor today. At around 6/1 or higher I was happy to back her to take on the favourite Zero Cool. I chose wrong today, and Cassiara never really got into the race, and to rub salt in the wound, Zero Cool benefitted from the drive of Jimmy Fortune to get up on the line. Darnit!!
