Wobbly form shown by City Stable

We made an acceptable respectable profit today, but thanks largely to the success of two lay bets. I had four win bets, but had to wait until my last selection before finding a winner. Gordonsville came home in front at Wolverhampton. He was returned the 6/4F but you could have got matched at a fraction under 7/4 on the exchanges.

I proposed two morning race favourites to oppose, in Mushtaaq and City Stable. The latter was running in a class 4 maiden over a mile at Windsor. It was his second outing after finishing 4 lengths behind the winner of a similar event on his debut. I didn't think his debut performance merited such a short price as evens favourite, and I layed bets to lose 2 points. Again he finished second.

By the end of the afternoon my account showed a profit of just over 2.5 points.
