Just what the doctor ordered
From several proposed bets this morning, only the one became available at the advised price - and that was Ostheopathic Remedy running at Ayr. This was a market mover which had been attracting support all day, and opened on course at 2/1 before being sent off the 6/4 favourite. He won with a little in hand, being eased down at the finish.
I put up King Of Cadeaux as a horse to oppose this morning. He was contesting a handicap race over 7f this afternoon at Yarmouth, having won last time out. With a 2lb penalty and not having relished this longer trip in the past, I didn't fancy him to win, and I was happy to lay him at 10/3 or shorter. However, the market seemed to agree with me, and there was never enough money to shorten the price and he was sent off 4th favourite at 13/2 and so was a 'no bet'.
And so my one successful win bet added just over 2 points to the bottom line.
