Weekend horse racing summary and weekly results

I suffered three losing bets yesterday, but my only bet today came in a refreshing winner at 4/1 I also had a successful lay bet against Inspector Clouseau at Thirsk yesterday, for an additional point.

The week finished pretty much where we started, in fact a little behind if truth be told. I'm afraid I just cannot seem to get any profit momentum going. We find a winner and then give the profit back with a succession of losers. It is most frustrating as all the work put in counts for nothing. However, it is during these lean periods that I have learnt to keep my discipline. All too quickly and easily we tend to forget the weeks when we chalk up 20 point profits. Betting during these weeks seems all too easy. The successful punters are those who have the mental fortitude to weather the barren weeks.

I read somewhere recently that "a winning period is a sure sign that a losing streak is just around the corner. Equally, when you seem to be throwing money down the drain as horse after horse turns in a disappointing performance, this is when a purple patch is just over the horizon."

From 18 Win Bets I scored a pathetic 3 winners this week, and lost the best part of 7 points profit.

This loss was balanced by a good performance by my Lay Bets which returned 7 points profit. From 5 bets the only horse that won came in at 10/11F

Total profit for the week: Win Bets 7pts loss, Lay Bets 7pts
