Thursday horse racing summary

A four point loss this afternoon, as all four win bets found horses finishing in front of them.

My two proposed lay bets remained too expensive for me, and so they both go down as 'no bets'. I had suggested going against Hamish McGonagall in the maiden auction stakes at Ayr. His first two runs had been nothing to write home about, and the change in going at Ayr was an inponderable, and so I felt anything odds-on would be a good price to start laying bets. Remarkably he was still sent off a relatively short-priced favourite at 13/8 but that was still a bit rich for me. In fact I recommended backing the horse over 6/5
