Divine Spirit was coming into a 5f sprint handicap at Beverley this afternoon off of two successive wins, and consequently he found himself in the position of race favourite. However, today he was stepping up in class and carrying a 9lb penalty for his latest success. I was convinced the handicapper had finally caught up with the horse, and went against him for 3 points. He trailed in last.
