Wednesday horse racing summary

A disappointing day's results, returning just one winner from five. Two of the four losers were well fancied horses that let the balance sheet down by finishing in runners up spot. Ma Vie En Rose was running in a 6f handicap at Salisbury. She had showed significant improvement in her last race, and I felt a further drop in trip would be to her liking. She had been given a very fair mark by the handicapper and so I felt the 20/1 available about her on the exchanges was worth a nibble. This time it did not pay off, but consistently backing horses with better-than-average chances of winning at long odds such as this, will reap dividends with surprising regularity.
