African Skies are blue

Another good day at the office, with more than 11 points profit to stuff in the satchel this evening. After saying I was finding it difficult to fire up the engine earlier in the week, I scored two decent-priced winners from four bets today. One guy having a trial this week sent me an email on Wednesday saying he could do better sticking a pin in his newspaper to pick horses, and promptly ended his trial after just three days. This guy did not have the patience to weather a three day losing spell of a single point loss. Since then we have bagged more than 20 points profit.

It is almost impossible to make daily profits in this game, and the key is to have patience, discipline, and a belief in your own abilities. As long as you are returning an overall profit most months your money will still be outperforming all the banks and building societies.

African Skies was running in a Group race for fillies over 6f at Ascot. She had shown improvement in her last race, in a similar event at the same track, finishing second after her previous race at class 3. I felt she would show continued improvement to win today. The price of 6/1 available about her was too tempting to resist, and proved to be a profitable bet as she came home in front.

Profit so far this month: 19 pts
