All Clued up for a win
Two successful win bets from four saw me pick up just short of 9 points profit today. Romantic Destiny got the ball rolling early on at Thirsk, but it was Haven't A Clue that scored at 8/1 that brought home the bacon. She was running in a nursery handicap at Wolverhampton. She has won her maiden but followed that up with two disappointing runs, latterly in a class 2 nursery. Sir Mark Prescott clearly thinks a lot of this filly to run her in such a race, so back at class 5 I thought that 5/1 or 11/2 would be a good price to back er against the warm favourite. The market plunged on the hyped horse and so we were able to mop up prices around 9/1 - fantastic value! I was rewarded with a win.
My only proposed lay bet was Fastnet Storm at Newmarket. The horse duly lost but its price never fell as low as I would have liked, and so goes down as a 'no bet'.
Profit so far this month: 7.5 pts
