Square Eddie shapes up well to win
A small profit overall today, but still less than a point, and I'm still looking to find my stride before the end of this month shortened by my holiday absence. I saw the one winner from five selections today. Square Eddie was competing at Salisbury this afternoon, in a maiden race over 6f. This colt finished only a length down in a class 2 event back in May, and so clearly had the form to win. A disappointing return in a Group race probably accounted for the value price of 5/2 on offer this morning, but by the off the market had realised this was the horse to be on, and he was eventually sent off at a paltry 6/4 He came home by over three lengths to regain a couple of points profit for me.
I got myself back into the black today by successfully overturning the favourite Hurricane Hen at Great Leighs this evening for 2 points.
Profit so far this month: 4.5 pts loss
