Monday horse racing summary

I was back, fully refreshed and tanned from my three weeks in the sun, and raring to go! However, the results on my first day back at the coal face were distinctly lack-lustre.

I proposed five win bets, and not one of them scored. I also had one lay bet, where I wanted to oppose Astrodome in the 2m handicap at Beverley this evening. Here was a horse who has had three runs this season, and never come close to winning, yet has only been lowered 2lbs by the handicapper, and was still a 7/2 favourite on some sites this morning. I was looking for 7/2 as a minimum price but this never materialised on the exchanges, so it has to go down as a 'no bet'. Pity, as he lost again and this would have salvaged a little from an otherwise forgetable day.
