Portal opens the door to profit

A relatively quiet day, with only three bets, but with two of these producing returns it was also a profitable day. Lord Lington was my only win bet of the day. He won at 7/2 but you could have taken prices up to 5/1 on the exchanges.

I went against two horses this evening, at Windsor and Warwick respectively. Rocking won at Windsor and cost me a couple of points, but I successfully layed bets against Portal running at Warwick. He was stepping up in trip and racing on soft going for the first time. With these unproven factors I was happy to lay him for three points, and indeed he was pulled up after failing to handle the ground.

A wholly satisfactory 6 points profit for a day's work.
