Spare Cash puts money in my pocket

I made a small profit overall today, thanks largely to a good result on one of my lay bets. I had three win bets which returned the one winner, but lost out by a half point.

I wanted to be against Spare Cash in the novice hurdle at Hereford. Yet again we had a horse being backed in to odd-on prices without any winning form. In a sixteen runner race he could not possibly justify the 4/7 price tag. Its little wonder most bookmakers holiday in Barbados, whilst punters lose money, if the backers are prepared to follow the herd and accept these prices. Spare Cash finished runner up by 3 lengths and brought me just over 8 points profit.

At the end of the afternoon I finished just ahead by one and a half point.
