It's just not Cricket

A Happy New Year to everybody! Well, not a particularly auspicious start to the year, with four bets from four going down. I had received good word from the Pipe yard that Cricket Boy had come on well for his debut run earlier last month. This afternoon he was contesting another 'bumper' at Cheltenham. Today's race represented a big step up in class, but I felt he justified a price of 9/2 or better. I managed to get matched at 5/1 before he was sent off the 7/2 favourite. He could only finish third and just over a length behind the winner.

Both my nominated lay bets lost, but their respective prices were not low enough, and so they both go down as 'no bets'.
