Wednesday horse racing summary

A useful couple of points profit to add to the bottom line this afternoon. The win bets didn't fare too well, with one short-priced winner from three bets.

However, I successfully layed two fancied horses for a total of 3 points. With no wins to his name, Banoge was the strong favourite to win the novice hurdle at Newcastle. Today he was also stepping up in class, which made the tag of favourite even more bewildering. I layed him for 2 points at 11/4 and punters continued to lump on until the price had dropped to 5/4 at the off. He finished fourth and 16 lengths behind the winner. I followed this up by laying Doris's Gift in the handicap chase later on in the afternoo.

Overall I made a profit of just over 2 points.
